GUVI IPL CONTEST

Design Task

The GUVI IPL Contest will run from 26th April, 2024 to 8th May, 2024. However, GUVI’s IPL contest deadline date has been extended until 12th May 2024, 11:59 PM (IST).

Your task is to design a digital Cricket Scoreboard interface using Figma. The scoreboard should provide real-time updates of cricket matches, displaying key information such as runs scored, wickets fallen, overs bowled, and other relevant match statistics. Design for both desktop and mobile versions for optimal user experience.

Objectives

User Engagement: Create a visually appealing and easy-to-understand scoreboard that keeps users engaged throughout the match.

Brand Representation: Incorporate elements that represent cricket and sportsmanship while maintaining a professional look.

Real-time Updates: Ensure that the scoreboard provides accurate and up-to-date information reflecting the ongoing cricket match.

Requirements

Design a Cricket Scoreboard interface that includes sections for:

  • Current runs scored by each team.
  • Number of wickets fallen for each team.
  • Number of overs bowled in the match.
  • Additional match statistics such as run rate, required run rate, etc.

Include intuitive controls for navigating between different matches or innings.

Design Constraints:

  • Use a maximum of two fonts for consistency and readability.
  • Stick to a color palette that reflects the essence of cricket and sportsmanship.
  • Ensure the design is responsive and optimized for both desktop and mobile devices.
  • Prioritize usability, clarity, and legibility in your design choices.
Deliverables

A high-fidelity prototype of the Cricket Scoreboard interface created in Figma.

A brief explanation of your design choices, highlighting how they align with UI/UX best practices for sports-related interfaces.

Evaluation Criteria:

Adherence to the design brief and objectives.

Creativity in layout and element design while maintaining usability.

Consistency in visual language, including typography, color scheme, and imagery.

User-centric approach, focusing on ease of navigation, readability, and accessibility of the scoreboard interface.

Copyright and Trademark Considerations

Ensure that all elements used in the design, including logos, icons, and graphics, are either created by you, obtained from reputable sources with appropriate licensing (such as royalty-free image websites), or are in the public domain. Avoid using any copyrighted or trademarked content without proper authorization or licensing agreements. Instead, use generic symbols and graphics to represent cricket-related elements. Conduct thorough research to verify the legal status of any assets used in the scoreboard design to avoid potential copyright infringement issues. Additionally, it's important to note that GUVI is not responsible for any copyright infringements that may occur as a result of using unauthorized content in the design of the Cricket Scoreboard
